Replacement Tire Selection PDF Manual

The Admiral reminded me that I hadn't posted this so here it is. This will answer every possible question you could ever think of about tires. Speed Symbols, Proper Selection, Substitute Tire Sizes, Maximum Tire Load Capacity and Inflation Pressure, Load Index, etc, etc, etc.

A little side note on tire pressure that I'm sure nobody really cares about ..... if you get all freaky about exact tire pressure, then it's important to measure the pressure with zero weight on the tire .... suppose your vehicle weighs in at about 5500 lbs. ..... and has a bias of 65% front and 35% rear weight, and you put exactly 44lbs. of air in all 4 tires while the vehicle is sitting on those tires ..... jack the vehicle up and re-measure the pressure .... all four tires will read a little lower pressure ..... and the front tires might be unacceptably low ..... knowing this little bit of useless information was important in my stockcar racing days.

Sorry Squid, but I don't have the attention span to read all of that ...... and besides, if you have a question relating to tires, ask Swarren ..... he's a wealth of tire technoligy information.

From now on I shall also adopt that attitude toward your post.

I found the Tire Inflation vs. Load statistics on page 51 to be most informative.
For example my LT285/70/17 tires are capable of 2,105 lbs. at 35 psi, yet at 65 psi they are good for 3,195 lbs. each. Thanks!

I won't get in to specifics but, it was fantastic! That reminds me me my tire pressure light came on three days ago.
