Question Tires?

I am looking to purchase some tires in a 275/70/18 A/T or M/T style size. What are some good types and where is the best and cheapest place to buy them?
Thanks

I went with Toyo ATs back in January. So far so good.. but the tread is wearing a bit faster than I'd like.

The 18" size unfortunately limits us on choices.

There's also the bridgestone dueler, and the Kuhmo tires.

I've had the Continental Conti-Trac's, the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos, and currently running the Firestone Destination A/T's. The Continental's were a highway tread and were just as bad as the Goodyears that came on the truck. The Dueler's were a great tire. I didn't get as much tread wear out of them as I would have liked, but overall, a good tire. Wet and Dry traction 10 times better than the Continentals and Goodyears. The Firestones that I have on now, have really impressed me. I've logged close to 30k miles on them, and they still look as good as they did the day I bought them. Wet and dry traction is really good, and they ride fairly quiet on the highway. I would highly recommend them as a replacement tire, and I don't think the price is all that bad either. I think I paid close to $525 for mine.

Can you change the rim size and go with a 16" rim and a bigger tire . I see a big difference in price and the savings would come close to covering the price of rims, I am looking for tires for my titan also and am sick of tires with no traction.

No you're limited by the brake rotors. 17" is as small as you can go. My 04 came with the Bridgestone Duellers A/t 693II and I got over 60,000 miles out of them. Then I tried the Bridgestone Revo's and got only 40,000 so I went back with the Duellers. If you don't do heavy offroading they are a OK mud tire (I have a 4X4) with great rain, ice and snow behavior.

I just put the BS Duelers A/T Revos on (285/70-17R). Have about 1000 miles on them, so far, so good.

I'm almost done with my 2nd set of REVO's (P-metric A/T that is). I get about 25K each time with every 3K performing a 5-way rotation, balancing and alignment. I also have nitrogen in the tires.
Of course living in the mountains with all the curves and rough terrain wears a tire fast but I'm not happy with Bridgestone and might try the Firestone Destination next.
Good luck!
