I Snapped a Valve Stem this morning

I went out to check the tire pressure in the Titan since it hadn't been driven in a while and the Queen wanted to go shopping. When I got to the passenger side I couldn't get the cap off by hand so I grabbed two pairs of pliers, one to hold the stem steady and the other one to turn the cap and when I did it twisted off. Darnest thing I've ever seen.

There is good news though. This is by far the easiest spare tire to get access to in any vehicle I've ever owned. Had the tire changed in less then 10 minutes. Now to go find a replacement stem and I'm sure this won't be cheap.

I hope you only need to buy one. Not a set of four.

Nice to know about the spare. In the future this may help you and others. I use anti-seize on my valve stems, even the ones with plastic caps.

Well according to this http://www.alltiresupply.com/prochur...rt/nissan.html the OEM P/N for the 04 Steel wheel is 40700 CK002 and it's $127. I did find an aftermarket sensor here Nissan Titan Tire Pressure Sensor 2004 - AutoPartsWarehouse.com for $81 and then throw in another $40 or so to have it programmed and I can do the whole thing for the price of the OEM.

I'm still looking for a rebuild kit with the stem, I hope, I hope, I hope?

We'll if you ask really really nice, I'll send you one for free. You just pay the shipping. On second thought I'd probably even pay the shipping...... I just have to remove one from one of the stock wheels I have this week.

I'll go down tomorrow to the warehouse and pull one out then email you. I just want to make sure I have no issues getting one. I don't think there will be a problem at all....
