Glad you asked and here's the answer. Dirt doesn't like to stick to a smooth surface so if you kneel down behind your truck and the rotor backing plate looks nasty like this you have a seal leak.





As you can see both sides are leaking now. I'm sure glad I waited before taking it in.

Mine did the same thing.
They replaced the entire rear end instead of just putting new sealsd in it because they knew that the 04 rear was doomed.

My 2008 Titan has a leaking rear seal. Found out the other day at the Nissan dealer when I took it in for $9.95 oil change, way cheaper then I can do myself. My seals are still warrantied under the 60,000 mile power train warranty. Has this been a common problem with this truck or is this from me towing loads with out a equilizer hitch?

No it's pretty common and it doesn't seem to matter how you've used your truck.
