quetion about tranny y diferential

i have a 04 4x4 crew cab. and i have heard that the diferential are weak and it should be replaced for a newer one.. is this true and recomendations

also i was going to change the tranny fluid and gear oils from factory to amsoil.. is this a good idea?

any newbe recomendation are welcome... thanks guys

its the spider gears in the rear differential that are weak and can break at anytime. i had mine pop around 80 something thousand. it sounded and felt like i had hit an anvil in the middle of the street. the solution... to have your rear differential changed out for a detroit tru-track locker differential. they usually run anywhere from 570-690 bucks. depending on where you can find the best price. then of course finding a gear shop with experience and know how, i'm guessing anywhere from 200-400 for the install...
