thanks for the new rear end!!!!!

I had to move. Hooked up a 6x12 u haul. Went to back up and had to cut the wheel and the truck wouldnt move. trailer brakes? dont think so! long story short. i have a new rear diff for free. they only had it 5 DAYS. the tech said its a newer updated one. anybody know about this new diff.

I Know that they are saying that the 08 has a bigger rearend and I was suppose to take pics of it today but didn't make it. Post a pic of your rearend and this morning on my way home I'll swing by the dealership and snap some pics so we can compare them.

Sounds like you have a great Service department.

I still cant post pics but the new one looks like the old one. As far as i can tell! Im sure its not any bigger. I love my truck but dont want to buy the next one. I hope this wont be a problem again. I dont really tow much and its usuallly not THAT heavy.

no, the newer design changed the flawed spider gears from the previous bt rear ends. can't remember if the new one is less or more spider gears though. i want to say one less spider gear but the new design is stronger, but that's it.

According to Austin, the Off Road E-Lock rears ends got upgraded from two pinion spider gears to four pinion spider gears in late 2005 to earlier 2006. No other models were upgraded in the '04 through '07 model years.

My 2 pinion locker still works.
