Transmission Upgrades

I e-mailed level ten about a upgraded valve body for the titan and here is the response i recived from them.

WE HAVE A VALVE BODY UPGRADE FOR YOUR TITAN. THE COST IS 698.00 PLUS S&H. I DO NEED YOU TO SEND ME YOUR VB IN ORDER TO DO THE UPGRADE. I ALSO HAVE A TORQUE CONVERTER UPGRADE FOR $998.00, AND A PROGRAMMER FOR $698.00. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL. MIKE LEVEL 10 TECH 973-827-1000

info@levelten.com

Called them today.

OK guys here is what i found out. The valve body mods firm up the shifts, the torque converter is a triple disk lock up with a stall speed of 2800-3000 rpm. They also have high performance bands and clutches for our transmissions, more holding power less slippage, with these upgrades a titan trans will live behind 800 HP. Here is the best news they have a ecu reflash that has the ability to change shift points and recalibrate the speedo for diffrent size tires, taller and shorter than stock, they have no dyno numbers as of yet.

I would bet that the programmer doesn't work correctly.

I'm not sure what exactly he claims his torque converter upgrade does... I was under the impression that on the titan that was controlled by the ECU.

Welcome aboard!

It's not a programmer you send them your ecu and they reflash it. The torque converter has a higher stall speed, it put you closer to your torque peak for better acceleration. The triple disk will hold more power, a similar upgrade they do to diesel trucks.

Levelten does some great work I've used them before for my old camaro and just so happen to have one of their trannys in my Vette. They do first rate work but I'm surprised by this info because it seems like not that long ago that I had checked with them and got the big NO but maybe I'm mistaken. http://www.levelten.com/store/index.htm

Thanks for the post.

I know there are folks out there that are into racing and see the need to accomplish these mods to improve performance. Its an old adage that to improve performance all it takes is "Cubic Dollars!"

From my perspective, if I were to feel that my Titan couldn't perform my needed tasks like towing or general work because of poor performance, I'd be more tempted to go buy a HD truck like Squid, and have all these mods be on the OEM warranty.

Right now, I'm completely satisfied with my Titan's performance and love the seamless way it shifts.
