I read that article as implying that "P" rated tires are not suitable for use on trailers.

Well after a bit of research Im going with this one.

http://www.equalizerhitch.com/productinfo/

One thing I like is I can use the surge brakes with it.

I looked on their site and didn't see any mention of surge brakes. Did you get that piece of info from a reliable source?

The reason I ask is that it looks like the anti-sway depends on the friction of the spring arms in their brackets. That friction might influence the surge brakes which depends on the fore and aft motion of the tongue coupler to actuate the brake piston.

Just thought I'd ask. I don't have any personal knowledge one way or the other on this product.

"Until now Sway Control has also escaped the boat towers grasp. Traditional add on sway products limit or distort the amount of front to back movement and render surge brakes useless or even dangerous. The Original Equal-i-zer® Sway Control Hitch allows anyone with surge brakes to have the benefit and comfort of 4-Point Sway Control™. "

It is under the compatibility tab.
