| Yeah a TT can have a layout as nice as a motor home. Only advantage of a camper is it is easier to find a campsite, and provide basic shelter w/o much hassle. But weight is a definite issue with a camper, and even on a '08 LWB Titan, could eat up the payload limit pretty fast, not leaving any for gear and passengers. |

| Its very important that 1/2 T Pick up owners realize that a PU is really just the first baby step into "Truckdom." True they haul more than a car, carry bulkier items than a car, but are still really babies in Truckdom. To do the big jobs takes big trucks. Of course big trucks tend to cost more, ride rougher and make other compromises that lean away from a car and more into a truck's domain. Really what I'm trying to say is that far too many people expect too much from a 1/2 T PU. Red

| Yes, this is apparent when adding mods, and the weight of them can quickly eat up payload capacity. I did a rough analysis of a guy's truck that blew out his differential, even stock he was a few hundred pounds overloaded, (2000 lbs. in the bed, if I recall), but with all his mods and himself in the truck, his remaining capacity was only something like 400 lbs. It opened my eyes to a major limitation of the 1/2 ton. And your posts reminded me that a TT is a better option than a camper, not only for space but due to limited payload. |
