| Interesting. I use a mic or dial calipers to determine diameter and then use a pitch gauge for thread size. That is the first time I've seen a set which incorporates the gauge for checking the diameter.
Its particularly important to have gauges when working metric and SAE as many folks have mistakenly switched one fastener type for another. Not a good idea.
Personally, I wish SAE would drop off the face of the Earth. The metric system is so much easier to use. Remember the ole BASE 10? Well the metric system is completely based on BASE 10.
Lets see now, 1/16th of an inch is 0.0625" !
One meter is 39.36" therefore a millimeter is 0.03936" so easy to calculate.
