Maintenance Log Software

I found this nifty site today that sells software for tracking your vehicle maintenance on either a smartphone or windows PC, or both! Cheap and it has a very nice appearance. You might want to give it a look.

I have no experience with it, but I think I will get it as it fills a need for accurate records:

Vehicle Manager for Windows Mobile Smartphone - The automotive tracking solution that enables you to manage and take care of one or more vehicles.

Hey Red that's pretty cool but for the same price you can get this Shopping lists, to do lists, grocery lists and checklists for Pocket PC, Palm and Smartphone - easily done with ListPro. and they have all sorts of templates ListPro List Exchange plus it's easy to make your own list. Just another alternative.

Sounds like a lot of options. It's sort of interesting to me how the pc is familiar but smart phones, palm and the pocket pc just sound like platforms that have too small of buttons and fonts to be anything more than a frustration.

I read a post tonight where someone said they would post later or look at a pic later, because they were on their phone internet. Sounds about what I expected.

Even at work everyone's getting bigger LCD monitors so we can see stuff. But don't listen to me, I need my reading glasses just to use the TV remote. Lol

Squid, thanks for that link. I am always interested in interesting applications. But I do not even have a camera phone, much less one that is hooked up to the internet. I still have not purchased a PDA. Retired life removes many of the needs for lists, etc.

Man with all the things that I'm involved with if I lost my phone I'd be dead in the water. I have everything on it from the wifes clothing sizes to oil type and quantity for all 5 vehicles, 3 mowers and 3 tillers. I have reminders for everything from doctor appointments to when I need to send in the taxes, to when to spray for bag worms and fertilize my trees. I check on the sites, get and send E-mail and actually have all sorts of nifty calculators for everything from electrical wiring to conversions for mixing oil and gas for 2 cycle engines to the specs for nuts, bolts, and nails. (How long is a 2 penny nail?).

Bottom line, I'm 45, wear trifocals and busy, busy, busy.

Squid, based on your comments you need to make sure all your lists are backed-up!! Failure is not if, but when.

Do you synch with your computer? If so you should be able to do that with no problem.

Me, I have a paper list and a list on my computer. I don't have anyway to synch my phone, so I've had to create it by typing it in.

Yup, the software is synched with the computer and what's nifty is that for people like swarren you can input it on the computer and then sync it with the phone so you don't have to deal with the little keypad.

So this is on a cell phone?

Funny thing I saw a young couple in a parking lot, heading to their car, (yeah she was beautiful, long blond hair, slender, and tan). Anyway they were both yaking on the cell phones, and I was thinking ... if that was me I'd be talking to her ... I like to think maybe he was.

Anyway, the computer synchro. sounds like the E ticket.
What is your cell service? I pay $20 a month. Do you think they can match that? j/k

I'm sure they can. It's the phone that cost the bucks because it has the PDA integrated into it but as for your cell phone minutes that's up to you. You don't even need a cell phone service to use the Pocket PC portion of the phone.

That's nice but I still think the list pro is worth the $30. They have list you can download for it for everything from OBD II and Morse codes to 4x4 offroading check list to Boating Checklist and Coast Guard Requirements, to Gourmet Cheeses to Boy Scouts: Scoutmaster's Planner to Bible and Aviation references and even the Periodic Table of the Elements.
There are literally 100's of list and reference programs for it plus you can create your own.
