quick oil drain valves

got mine here http://www.fumotovalve.com/ all you have to do is push and turn a lever to drain your oil, works great, well worth the 35 bucks, the part number for the titan valve is " F103 "... from what i can see while its on the truck, there is no chance of hitting this valve while on or off road...

I never thought of this before, but I think that a nice piece of armored hose could be attached to the engine oil pan, then route the hose to a safe location out of the way. Attach the quick valve to the opposite end of the hose and you wouldn't have to even chance getting messy as the valve could be set right in the drain pan and then turned on to drain the oil.
Sounds doable to me anyway.

Did you pay $25 for this ???? I'm either a cheapo mega-tight-wad or you go through life carelessly tossing money around......maybe I need to realize that I can't take my money to the grave with me when I'm dead and gone and just start buying me some of these little things that make life just a little nicer ......

A Cresent wrench, or a cheap copy, works pretty good Mr.B. I think these drain doo-hickies might help keep the carcinigen containing used motor oil off your delicate hands though. And for those types that go to quick lube places, the drain valve would pay for itself real quick.

The worst thing about changing the oil though is the filter removal. Almost always have some of that spent oil running down my arm. Think I'll use a plastic bag over the old filter next time, (while spinning it off). Anyone have any other ways of staying clean, during old filter removal?

Take a 2 litre Coke bottle and cut the bottom off ..... leave the bottle cap on .....slide the bottle over the loosened filter ..... spin the filter and let it fall into the bottle along with the drippings ...... on a side note, I cut out the little square on my splash shield with a torch and lined the new "filter access hole" with some 3/8" rubber fuel hose ..... I'm not sure if this can be done on a 4X4's skid plate.

Already have a ~ 6" by 6" access panel on the off-road skid plate, with four hex head, counter-sunk machine screws holding it on.

Good ideal on the Coke bottle as a oil filter removal tool. Thanks!
