Bead Blasters

Just wanted to put this out htere for this wanting to strip parts for repainting or getting rid of rust or body fillers.
My family owned a radiator shop and we had a large blasting cabinet we used on the tanks and cores.
This is a must for your home shop.
Here is a couple spots to find them:

There are two main types of blasters. There are the syphone cabinets for small to larger parts and the pressurized tanks for body panels or really large parts.

I freekin love blast cabinets for stripping parts. It makes the job so easy.

Wow. Thats a great price. Its a good size too.
The one we had was so big you could fit wheels in it. I wish we still owned that place. I kinda wanted to inherit it........not like through death just handing it down to me. It was sold to our longest employee. He worked there for like 17 years before we sold it to him.

my dads got a cabinet like that at his machine shop. i get lots of use out of it. as im sure you all know the media you choose to use sort of decides what its going to do for stripping. and unfortunetly for me he uses sort of a fine media, mostly for thin paint stripping and putting a matte finish on some parts. so it takes a while to do some of the dirt work i try to do. but definetly nice to have at my disposal.

When I was a youngster, I used to work in a place that rebuilt VW engine heads. The final step before shipping was for me to blast 'em with glass beads in a blast cabinet ... made them look so good, I've considered getting an extra set of O.R. wheels and getting them glass beaded, and clear coated.

Great thread. This is one of things I was wanting to get after I get the barn done. I have a craftsmen that I use in a cardboard box that a freezer came in that way I can filter and reuse the medium which works Okay but is a real pain in the butt.
