Garage Door Opener

I just wanted to let you all know how impressed I am with the Genie Directlift plus screw drive door opener I got at Lowes for $188. In the past I've always had chain drive openers but I decided to give a screw drive a try on the barn and man is this thing quiet. One person can install it in an afternoon and the one I got came with an outside keypad which is really nice and 3 openers (One with a light and 2 that can be programed for 3 different openers.)

If you go to get a garage door opener take a look at Genie, I'm going to replace the chain drive in the garage with one this Summer.

Cool. We have a Genie chain drive, but it came with the house. I do like the keypad outside though!

Yeah, our house is 5 years old and it's already time to replace our garage opener. Thanks for the post, I think I'll go take a look at those this weekend at Home Depot, or Lowes.

I saw just the outside keypad at Lowes for all Genie intellicode garage door openers for $28 .

I wanted the Keypad because it's such a long walk back to the house to get the remote if I decide I want get in the barn.

*must learn to finish my thoughts before hitting the post key*

Anyway, it's great for both when I need to get in the house because someone has locked me out, or when I need the shed key which also lives in there.

When I'm doing yard work, I tend to not have my keys in my pocket, and that's the door that I'll usually leave open. When my significant other comes across that door unlocked, she locks it.... sometimes when both of us are outside.

ah, ok... i've been locked out before, it sucks. never locked out by the wife tho, just out of stupidity (kinda like looking the keys in a vehicle - have to admit, i'm guilty of that).
