Homemade 1:3 scale Ferrari 312PB FULLY functional

I couldn't put this in the off Topic section because it wouldn't have been fair.

When this guy, Pierre Scerri began building his dream car in 1978. Fifteen years and 20,000 hours later, he finally had his dream: a Ferrari 312PB. This isn't just any 312PB, but a 1:3 scale, fully functional 312PB. Fully functional as in it has a 100cc 12-cylinder engine that starts and runs with a working gearbox connected to a wooden knob-topped shifter in the trademark Ferrari gate. Even the tiny gauges accurately report engine information.

The guy took three years just to make the drawings for the car and then made every single piece himself. That includes the Firestone tires and every engine part down to the valve springs. Scerri even taught himself to make glass so he could recreate the exact pattern in the headlights' glass.

The tiny hand-built engine even produces that well-known Ferrari "music."

This guy is cool and here's his web site. http://mps-sportproto.com/en/

I have to admit, there's one half of me that thinks this guy has way too much time on his hands; but the other half is totally amazed of what he did. You have to admire his dedication to this project, however, you would also have to question 'why would he do this'? Anyway, I've come to my own conclusion; he's a brilliant man who put a lot of time (I believe he said 20 years) in his project, and it's very admirable.

This goes beyond dedication. This is an obsession! 15 years to invent a 1/3 scale wheel!

When the world goes up in nuclear smoke, this is the guy you want on your team. Think of all the skills he has mastered. Rubber making, machining, casting, forging, mechanical design, reverse engineering!

Wow.

I watch that video about every day. How would you like to have him as a neighbor?

Squid. "Hey Pierre, think you could make ????? for my Titan?
Pierre. "Why yes, let me go make the mold and the alloy for that part". HAHAHA.
