New Project! 4x4 With 22" Of Wheel Travel!

So this maybe a long shot but im gonna tear out my titans suspention and replace it with a 90" wide, ford i-beam set up. If i can pull this off then were talk 22" of wheel travel PLUS i get to keep my 4x4!

So you plan to make new half shafts and use different CV joints? That will cost you.

holy sh!t dude....long shot indeed....that'll cost you the price of a whole new truck!!! why the need for so much travel when you can get an 'off the shelf' or custom LT kit that'll provide for more than enough travel for weekend desert fun........

primarily to retain his 4x4 abilities whilst yielding almost trophy truck-like travel. while i-beam has its distinct advantages in some areas. IFS long-travel characteristics still better though.

i know its not gonna be cheap but yes i plan on racing it down the road. Terribles raced a 4x4 a while back and they were unstoppable so hopfully if keeping my 4x4 i can have that same fate and then evenchually i wont need to spend an arm and a leg for my trucks n e more. SPONSORS BABY! lol

Question: Are you talking about the infamous "Twin I Beam Axles" that Ford used to have? Or, are you planning on a true rigid I Beam front axle?

ive never even heard of a rigid i beam axel. im pretty sure those are just called solid axels if its what i think ur talkin about. that would be abother option but with i beams u get more travel so im usin those

the twin i-beam axles like this Red... lots of travel. this particular ranger has 22"s of front travel and 32, yes, 32"s of rear travel... crazy!!!

Thanks. Those old Twin I-beams used to be terrible because you couldn't fully adjust the suspension unless you bent the dam* axle to align.

Of course, this doesn't matter to you guys who plan to beat the crap out of them with giant tires and mondo Whoop-de-whoops!
