Pulled bed-sides on a titan?

Hello. I need to get flaired bed-sides for my titan but we just finished bulding my buddies sierra and instead of spending the 600$ for flaired fiberglass bedsides we just pulled them out and welded some new braces. So i got to thinkin about "why dont i just do that on my titan" my only concern is titan bedsides already have a natural flair in em and im not sure if it would look good. Has anyone pulled, or know someone who pulled there bedsides on a titan?

here's some from one of our fellow SoCal titan owners that had his bedsides pulled... looks pretty good for the price.

I'm curious. What does this process gain for the owner? Do they need more width to cover wider tires/wheels?

Is this process accomplished by using a chain fall or do you cut out a wedge and weld in a wider one?

in the off-road world it is done so better suspenssions with better wheel travel can be allowed without the wheel going into negative travel and tearing off your fenders. IT also lets u put bigger wheels and tires on your truck.

like vegas said, it allows for tires to kinda tuck into wheel well when off-roading without having to lift your truck to the sky in order to make sure they clear....

and I don't recall how they do it, drawing a blank

It can be done fairly simple and costs a practicaly nothing as long as u have the a welder handy. all u need to do it cut your wheel well from the body pretty much and as soon as u do that its pretty easy just to pull out as far as youde like. Then just shove a block of wood in there and weld some metal preaces every 3 inches or so. works like a charm

my opinion though. pulled bedsides on a titan look like shat! i've seen both the glass bedsides and pulled bedsides on a titan and the glass bedsides look a helluva lot better!
