level kits??

just joined the Titan family last month when I got rid of my weak Toyota Tacoma and got a 04 Titan LE 2wd. This thing drives great and most importantly tows my boat with ease. But it has a serious nose dive to it. Apparently the previous owner installed an extra leaf spring in the back, I thought somebody referred to it as a "helper spring". Anyway, I know of the level kits available for the front end, but will I be screwing myself for when I tow? Will the back end sag because of the tongue weight? Also, the truck bounces around pretty hard when I am not towing, on the rear end, likely becuase of the leaf setup I guess, would an after market shock be a better choice? I just want the truck to be somewhat level and drive as smooth as possible. In the future I would like to maybe lift the whole thing up 4" or so, but right now I am pretty low on greenbacks... PRG seems to be the favored level kit, but will it really help enough to make a difference????

I would have to say yes. I had a 2wd level kit on mine and loved it I only changed it out for a lift kit. PRG can inform you even better on what will work best for you.

Did your ride suffer with the level kit? Did your back end need raising?

The ride was fine and the back end was stock. Here is a picture of my truck with just the PRG 2.5" 2wd level kit.

The PRG is just a spacer that sits on top of your standard shock. It shouldn't effect ride quality at all....

Be very wary of the products that require you to preload the coil-over as the stock shocks are prone to burst when that's done to them (a la the Daystar kits).

If that is Greg from PRG I have been calling him for 2 days now and can't get a call back. He must be busy as hell or tired of stupid questions.....

Yeah, whatever you do, don't get the Daystars.... Not to take any bizz away from PRG, you can find PRG copy cat products on eBay for your leveling kit and bump stop. Do your homework tho, b/c you don't want to mess up your suspension with the Daystars.
