| Why Texas Rocks.....Concealed Handgun - Texas - Vet Discount Concealed Handgun - Texas - Vet Discount
Effective September 1, 2007, honorably discharged veterans will have to pay only 1/2 of the fees charged by Texas for a concealed Handgun License:
Under 60 years of age -
Initial Fee = $70 (1/2 of $140)
Renewal = $35 (1/2 of $70)
Over 60 years of age -
Initial Fee = $35 (1/2 of $70)
Renewal = $17.50 (1/2 of $35)
This means that veterans over 60 will pay less for renewal of their concealed handgun license than for their driver's license. Texans know what is most important.
September 1st is also when the castle doctrine goes into effect!
