Taking "Smokey" in 07-30-10

Well my first problem has arose on the 2010. My switches on the climate controls aren't working properly. Fan speed, and temperature work fine, but the buttons used to switch from vent to defrost to floor to bi-level and etc... aren't functioning. I can press any one of the buttons and can hear the solenoid activate, but no change in location of blowing air. Stays coming through the vents all the time. Had to drive with my head out the window this morning. Went through a hot spot and the windshield fogged up in a blink of an eye. Hopefully it won't take too long since I'll have both the kids with me tomorrow. See attachment for visual picture.

When the switches started acting funny on my '05, the service rep ordered a new panel. In and out was just an hour for the repair. If it is deeper than that, its major surgery as Squid pointed out to AFTitan in an earlier thread.

Yeah I saw that. I hope it's not major. But it's under warranty

Well took the Titan in today and had a one on one with the tech for about 30 minutes describing my issues since the controls were working fine today. He said given the details that I gave him he nailed it down to a short or glitch in the actuator that controls the duct flaps. He said that he doesn't really like to order parts not knowing if that will fix it or not, but he felt pretty comfortable doing so after talking with me. Part should be in sometime early next week. I told him I was no Titan virgin that I had an 04 up until 09 and that I frequent several Titan forums. He said too that he has a 2010 Titan and asked what some of the forums were. So I made him a list and might be having a new member sign up sometime.

Sounds like a possible problem/fix. It's really hard to fix something that won't stay broke.

Sorry I forgot to post my findings. It was the actuator that was the issue. Tech replaced it in an hour or two and all my buttons work to a tee now.
