Exclamation PRG's New Really Tall Spindle Lift...

I saw this post from October 1st by PRG over at another major Titan forum:

"Just finished this truck and wanted to show max lift on a 2wd with spindle, coilovers, upper a-arms, srings, 4" blocks, and a bit of grinding. note the huge clearance under the front cross-member. Enjoy."

The truck belongs to switches1866 over there.

hooligan has the 4" spindle lift combined with some coilover lifts etc. Don't recall his max height but somewhere around an 8" lift! Very nice looking Titan too.

The biggest problem I see with this lift is, (if you look at the a-arms droop) the a-arms are at ABOUT the max downward angle they can travel, so it appears. They are probably real close to laying on the biump stops if they are not already. Here's the problem, Say your driving a long and drop a tire into a pot hole. There is little IF any droop left in the a-arms to fall into the hole, therefore the truck falls into the hole and the suspension can only absorb the upward rebound. This lift might be good for STREET driving and even then at times will be harsh. He may have ground down the lip in the coil bucket to get more lift, but probably more so to keep from banging the coil bucket all the time with the upper a-arm. Which is now probably just about always laying on the coil bucket or right at it. Looks good but NOT very functional. Same as when you put on a leveling kit or crank the dre's, basically you just lost that much droop (downward travel) with the lift you just gained. Because you are in fact pushing your a-arms down more to get the lift. With the pro comp or fabtech lift you are dropping the entire front end down and NOT loosing the droop. Unless you add a spacer or crank the coil overs. I AM NOT KNOCKING ANYONES TRUCKS or LIFTS, Just stating fact and functionality.

he does have the Total Chaos UCAs though, but i believe for the max gain i do believe a bit of grinding on the coil bucket is in order, but eliminates the contact!
