Also, less of a PITA to mount, and won't hit the frame like the 2 1/2" SAWs sometimes do. . |

Wow! I actually placed those wheels on my short list yesterday and I totally forgot about the weak shackles on our trucks so I'm glad I started this thread. I think a 7inch lift is a little much because I do have to place and retrieve things in the bed. (Unless I can steel and integrate one of those nifty Ford Heavy duty tailgates with the integrated ladder and hand hold.) So what's the difference between the rear Saws and the rear Donahoe's? I think I remember that the Bilsteins and the Donahoe's is about length. I believe that Greg thinks the Bilsteins are a better shock but the Donahoe is longer. So this is what we have right now from the Suspension masterminds. - PRG spec'd SAWs - PRG Upper Control Arms - 1.5" Deaver spring pack (What's the Difference between the 1.5" and 2.5 " deaver pak?) - 1" custom PRG tapered billet blocks (What's the difference between this and the 2") - PRG offroad traction bars - Total Chaos shackles - donohoe rear shocks (Or Saws?) - BFG ATs (Are these the KO's that Swarren1 and others rave about?) And what is the minimum that would need to be done before a person could slap a huge set of wheels and tires on the truck since i don't see a kit on the website that has all of these parts? After 3 years and 99,000 miles you have no idea how pumped I am to be finally here. |

| greg has personally told me the Donohoe rear shocks are better because of the valving, but i'm not 100% sure they have an extended length application just yet, once you get the 1.5" deaver pack. the AT ko's are the ones everyone raves about. only difference between the 1.5 to 2.5 or 1" and 2" is the heighth of 1". you want the most you can get w/o having to go bracket lift so you can clear those tires. sounds like a 4" performance package like swarren's is in the works! ![]() so let me revise the list: swarren can add/change/enhance when he sees this. - PRG spec'd 2.5 SAWs - PRG Upper Control Arms - 2.5" Deaver spring pack - PRG offroad traction bars - Total Chaos shackles - donohoe rear shocks - 325/65/18 BFG AT KOs - 18x9 American Racing Teflon Thugs 6x5.5 (BWT: American Racing Wheels - American Racing Rims - Thug (Teflon)) - removal of front sway bar - pinch weld mod plus you're 6'2" so even with a 2" lift you'll still be able to man-handle stuff out of the truck.

Yes - PRG Upper Control Arms No - 2.5" Deaver spring pack IMO as a rake hater, 1" Deaver mini-pak No - PRG offroad traction bars IMO - not necessary on a 4" Performance Package, especially without the low gear Yes - Total Chaos shackles Yes - donohoe rear shocks Or spend 2X to 3X? on the Radflo Rears or the SAW rears. No - 325/65/18 BFG AT KOs IMO - 34" 305/65/18 are a better match for a 4" lift, especially w/o the lower gearing of BT or OR pkg. In fact if I didn't have the low gears, I'd go 33" maximum. If you must have 35s why not go for the BFG MT KM 35X12.5 QR18, at only 60 lbs. they will not only be lighter for fuel savings and more power, but will kick the AT's ass in the farm muck during winter. Yes and No - 18x9 American Racing Teflon Thugs 6x5.5 ( Yes, I like these wheels, but from Squid's intended usage description ... No, he absolutely does not need a big brake kit, therefore he needs the 17x8.5" Thugs! Which also means a BFG MT KM LT 285/70/17 50 lbs. for even more fuel savings, and more power. Also, since mostly farm and feed store type vehicle, Squid can get away with some of the really aggressive Swamper type tires. The BFG AT are very heavy duty tires for big towing jobs cross country, and hard hitting dry, off-road, but around the farm in the mud and muck maybe not the best choice. They'd be o.k., but there's better for the application. Add - Tru-Trac Squid, you just need* get the PRG 4" Performance Package, but tell them you want the TC Shackles and credit towards the Radflo or SAW 2.25" rear shocks. If you have to go 5 mph on the farm roads, I think you should upgrade the rears. *Actually if you go with 33" or 34" tires, (which makes sense with your gearing), just get the DRs for the front and back. |

| lol, now that's how you break it down. i did say yes on the 2.5 deaver pack, because the shackles will bring er down the 3/4s and squish likes rake. yes, on at least street bars, eliminates squishy squatting feel and tightens the rear, least i noticed the effect of my O/R bars immediately. and as far as the tires the 325/65/18s are only 34.7", granted wider but aren't a true 35". i agree though on the 17" size too. no real need for the BBK, heck greg still runs stock with Stillen cross-drilled rotors in front but the same size as the OEM and stock calipers and he's running with a ton of extra weight and 37" BFG Baja Project tires that weigh in excess of 60lbs each. i think the 17x8.5 is the perfect size, something i'm looking into for the future, so we agree there!

| Wow....another great thread that I'm attending late! Can't say how proud I am of you right now Squish for taking this huge leap into another world! Umm, let's see.....all the aforementioned advice sounds great, not much I can add.........I would say yes to the TC shackles considering the amount of traveling you do 'off the beaten path'.......although certainly not a priority or something you must get immediately, the traction bars are a fantastic upgrade, at least the street version........and Swarren makes a strong point for MTs, that's probably a good idea man, I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about the fast black, Kansas off-roader that will be joining the family!

| I think that you'll really want the traction bars if you do anything with height on the rear. I've got the "jettech" helper spring mod which makes things bareable, but it's not traction bars...
