BMW technology

I'm posting this to highlight the BMW's engine technology. 300HP out of an 3L inline 6. Their inline 6 has long been considered a wonderful power plant. Now, it is even better.

It's always amazed me at how much power they can squeeze out of a 4 banger or a 6 cylinder.

I owned a F150 w/the old 300 cu in engine. Underpowered, but very smooth. In fact the thing ran for ~300k miles and was still going strong when I bought the Titan.

Straight 6 is good but my Dad's old Pontiac with a Straight 8 was the perfect inline engine. They quit making them before I was old enough to drive.

I remember those! We had one! I learned to drive on that and and a Studebaker Lark. You're right, that engine was a smooth well balanced power plant.

I totally agree, our family has had more then a half dozen Ford 300c.i. straight six engine. The 300 is a great engine, long lasting, and reliable..
