The End of the Titan???

Say it ain't so. Seems that the Titan will be done in 2010.

Chrysler and Nissan made a deal to produce vehicles for each other. Nissan will produce a small car for Chrysler in Japan (for the US market) and Chrysler will build the replacement for the Titan in their Mexico plant.

Quote:
Under the deal, Nissan will start making a small car for Chrysler at a plant in Oppama, Japan, in 2010, the companies said in a joint statement. Chrysler will sell the car in North America, Europe and other markets.

A year later, Chrysler will start building a large pickup for Nissan at its truck plant in Saltillo, Mexico, the companies said. The Chrysler-produced truck will replace Nissan's current Titan model.

might be the smartest thing for nissan to do... gas is killing everybody, and they need to start designing cars that are more petro friendly. it'll be missed tho!!

LOL! That's optimism if I've ever heard it!

I'm thinking about selling my Titan and getting a smaller car. I really don't need a truck and currently I've had to curtail my travels because of the cost of gas. Gas mileage on my Titan will never get better and the cost of gas in very very unlikely to go down for good.

My finances just can't tolerate $90 fill-ups indefinitely; especially when I just use the truck for going to and fro.

That and parking are my only real complaints with the Titan.

I doubt you're the only one on their way out of a truck and large SUV due to gas prices. I unfortunately have no choice................

yeah, I think many of us (except for Hoolie who has completely modified the truck to the point of no return) have thought about that Red........different situations have kept us in the truck for different reasons.

I know that if I was still driving 60 miles a day and the truck wasn't close to being paid off (in a few months! ), the wifey and I would be have serious discussions, read: fights, about keeping the titan ...... for now, we just use the X more than the truck, although even that little SUV is a bit of a gas guzzler.........
