| Long Travel F150 Concept this was posted by Dragonhead08 over at TT .... I thought it was interesting Ford working on 'Raptor' F-150 b!tchin idea, it's equivalent to Nissan hooking up with Greg to produce a factory titan with extended travel, wide fenders, large tires, and aftermarket shocks!!!

| To all the above, absolutely. There would be dumbasses here in socal that would think they have a race-ready truck, the price tag would be astronomical (as is the overpriced No Frear Package on Titans), the materials would probably be inferior to what you would pay for yourself, tires/wheels used might not be optimal (wheels would probably be a bit bling-bling), etc, etc ......... I'm still impressed by the fact that Ferd is thinking outside the proverbial box and not thinking of coming up with another over-accessorized, chrome-clad truck...

| i don't see how its a concept as several aftermarket companies already make F150 longtravel kits. thinking out of the box i couldn't possibly give ford that kind of credit. selling a packaged truck like that would be a leap that no other manufacturer has offered. who knows? but they'll perhaps market it like its the first of its kind... fox is probably thinking they can globalize their name even more... screw them! fox suck anyways! here's a long travel kit already offered by JD fabrication here in Escondido... ![]() another from NCD customs... ![]() another by another offroad reknowned fab company in oceanside...

| I highly doubt Ferd would make this. My point was not to say "look, they'll put off-road shops out of business, if I was in the market, I'd buy one!" The auto makers are always trying to 'put out' aftermarket variants of their vehicles just to see what people think but they're mostly bland or trendy, ricer pieces of sh!t....kinda like that Onyx thing or that little tacoma ricer (forget the name). The fact that Ferd is even recognizing an off-road, performance-oriented truck is worth looking into (instead of a No Fear F150) is what's impressive to me........ damn, guess no one else was impressed by a major automobile manufacturer putting out this kind of idea .... bassturds!

| oh no, i'm absolutely impressed, i'm just jumping ahead thinking what ford would think releasing such a beast. they'd feel their truck was ground-breaking as if they invented long-travel, but yer right. some consumers would think their raptor would be indestructible.

on another note, PRG's mid-travel kit which was outfitted on Bob Graham's 1400 sportsmen class titan did well in the baja 1000 until a Camburg component broke. PRG 1, Camburg 0

| I could care less if the Ford sells, but at least they have the balls to even consider something like this. Alot of auto manufacturers come up with wild beasts that'll never see market and its common practice, but they do it to give the brand loyalists somethin to drool over. But lets ask ourselves, whats Nissan done for us? Face it Nissan's U.S. division needs to rethink their marketing strategy, their business units suck monkey balls, and their PR dept. too. |
