I saw an 08 and the only difference I saw was the front fog light area and the dash set up a little nicer IMO. Everthing else stayed the same except the longer bed and bigger tank oh yeah bigger wheel's and brakes... Can't forget those.....I'm leaving for a few days, when I get back next week, I'll go and take some pics......

Good write up Squid. The more and more I look at the Tundra, the more and more it's growing on me. The only thing that I could think that would hold me back from a purchase is the price tag. For all of the better compnents they have put on to make it "The truck that's changing it all." they are definetly proud of them. As much as I would like to own one, I think I'll drive the trusty Titan until the wheels fall off. Which hopefully will be a long ways away.

The Tundra received the highest rating from the Insurance companies when they tested and it is said that their tests are more stringent than the Feds.

Toyota Tundra Gets Top Frontal Crash Test Rating

Last month, we were a bit stunned when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the all-new Toyota Tundra a four-star crash test rating, instead of the highest 5-star rating. The testing procedures by the NHTSA are almost always more forgiving than the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which uses more extreme crash tests in their evaluations.

Today, we learn that the IIHS rated the new Tundra good, the group’s highest score, in frontal crash tests. Both a two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive Double Cab Tundra were tested.
Sky - Your correct, here are the test for all to see. I'm just poken at the Tundra a little. Toyota is trying so hard to market the truck to be the best and they're doing a great job IMHO. They're not reinventing the wheel, there just re-engineering it,,,,,,,,

I saw a poor toyo this morning trying to pull an enclosed trailer. had to be a promotional deal for toyo, which means some dealer in houston is likely to be doing somehting similar here this weekend. was a crewmax and it looked like it was struggling bad. I tried to get a picture but couldn't slow down fast enough. trailer was about a 30 footer, but they really should learn how to load it, or use a real truck to pull it. if it wasn't overloaded, that truck is crap.

the tundra was kinda growing on me but the more i see on the road, the more i'm turned off by the look of the front. its just fugly in a some weird sort of way. starting to see one every blue moon now, but predominantly the non-5.7L I-force, hahaha, more than likely because of the price tag of the 5.7L

the cost of modding my truck the way i want it versus going and buying a new Tundra CrewMax 5.7L is much cheaper and plus mine is much more beastlier now than a Tundra. i look down on Tundra owners in mine and once the VKpro along with some Stillen headers, i won't be too worried about lack of power none either! and after watching the Tundra commercials countless times and seeing our vaunted Titan on the Tundra's coattails, i'm now no longer as impressed with the Tundra's speed as i am with the Titan's ability to be right there and at a better value as well! add to that a few performance mods and the Titan would be neck and neck with the Turdra! that and we know that the VK56 motor is at 40-50% of that motor's potential. with different valving and a few tweaks here and there, Nissan will have that same block spewing much more horsepower as where the Tundra's I-force 5.7 is close to maxed out already in terms of variable valving. i'm foreseeing either some huge changes to the VK motor come 09 or 10, but till then the 5.6 is still plenty motor already!!!
