| Great pics! Thank you Squid. On a side note, I've heard a bit about the Tacoma being good for OR, but when I see them I always think way too small, but the other day I spotted an old style 3/4 size truck that looked perfect. The badges said "Tundra". Must have been an '06. Funny how I've heard the old Tundras bashed for this size so often on the forums, but it actually filled a nice niche. |

| Any pics of your bike from this trip? Or did I miss it .. those thumbnails seem smaller and smaller. And pics of the raspberry too? Lol Was it bike related or some typical clumsy act? |

| Oh a sunburn. That pic reminds me of the movie The Shining for some reason ... That's right Steves. I'm sure that came into play, and it is 7/8 size ... not 3/4. They seemed to want to break all the spec records out there, and pretty much did. At a minimum, it's as good as any of the other 1/2 tons, which is a good way to start. |

| You know when you design a truck with a clean sheet of paper/crt. Then it is easy to come out on top. After all, the only thing you need is to make sure you beat everything the other guy has. For me the real proof in the pudding, is when, a few years down stream, after all the others have done their "me too" redesigns and your product still shines. Like the Titan is now doing, 4 model years later. The '08 is an evolutionary upgrade and not a total redesign like the '07 Tundra. I can't fault Toyota as they have consistently shown they build top quality products. There was never anything wrong with the previous Tundra. Rather it was mis-understood by the American Trucking Population who are still fixated on who has the bigger ....! Red

| Nice write up squid. Now with all that you observed and brain washed by the Tundra, remember this; The ride down the hwy. is like driving a 3/4 ton in my opinion. I drove one and urgh down the 10 fwy here and my man tity's were getting sore... The other thing I noticed was that where I like the steering wheel, it interfears with the dash display. And like you, I didn't like the dash set up much. Other than that I really liked the truck... With that said I went out and bought another 07 TITAN !!! Oh BTW don't get in a front impact crash with any other full size out there with the Tundra, it only has a 4 star crash score haha....... |

| There is actually a little more to crash test scores. True the DC drivers side scored 4 out 5, while the passenger side scored 5 out 5. The Titan scored 5 out 5 for the driver and 4 out 5 for the passenger. The Tundra received the highest rating from the Insurance companies when they tested and it is said that their tests are more stringent than the Feds. Toyota Tundra Gets Top Frontal Crash Test Rating Last month, we were a bit stunned when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the all-new Toyota Tundra a four-star crash test rating, instead of the highest 5-star rating. The testing procedures by the NHTSA are almost always more forgiving than the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which uses more extreme crash tests in their evaluations. Today, we learn that the IIHS rated the new Tundra good, the group’s highest score, in frontal crash tests. Both a two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive Double Cab Tundra were tested.

| I just got a call from the Nissan dealership and they have some 08's in so I get to continue with the second part of the test. Oh yeah and the guy at the exhibition said that the Tundra wasn't designed for a 5th wheel hitch but it seems that what he meant was that they didn't design the truck for a hitch installation not that it can't pull a 5th wheel. Sky has some info from a manufacturer that is producing and selling 5th wheel hitches for the Tundra. I can't wait to go see the 08 Titan and snap a bunch of pics. |
