| I wasn't all that impressed. The cover article is the truck of some 16 y/o kid who's daddy owns a casino. His lighted "skirts only" door sills might be just the ticket for someones truck though...

| Oh yeah, one of my favorite parts of the magazine was flipping through the letters section. "Dear Diesel Truck Magazine, which aftermarket transmission should I buy for my truck after the stock one metls down?" Who the eff buys a brand new truck, then waits for transmission problems? These domestic truck owners have become too complacant!

| Diesel transmissions arn't built to withstand the torque a modded diesel can put out. The reason that just a chip can give so many gains is because the manufacturers have to detune the engine so much so the tranny and driveline doesnt burn up. The allison is probly the stroingest diesel tranny out there and the d-max is still detuned a lot to help it out. So...one of the first mods for a diesel when building a high power truck is an upgraded tranny and torque convertor that can handle the loads. I hope that Nissan gives us a Cummins with an allison behind it. A CAT wouldnt be that bad either. The Cummins coz they are bulletproof and easy to make big power out of and the allison coz its also built tough and has lots of aftermarket parts for it already. Come on Nissan!!!
