I agree, it looks nice. What happens at the gap along the top? Are you going to use "Z" channel where the two pieces of siding butt?

Red

I have 12" cement lap siding I'm going to use. It's a 9" gap so it should fit nicely.

Tuesday I finally got my call from Sutherlands that the framing for my sliding barn door was in so I went and picked it up on my way to pay for Ted. Tomorrow I'll get it painted and the framing for the Pella Sliding glass door that this will hide done and hopefully by Sunday that side of the barn will be complete.

As usual I ran into a little trouble with this part of the project. I was sold the wrong Box Rail so I had to take the door off, the rail down and make a 100 mile round trip to get the right one but it's on and I do have the frame done for the sliding glass door that the barn door will hide so no biggie.

Let me tell you a 8 ft by 8 ft door with cement siding on it is a heavy and awkward thing to move around not to mention the 16 Ft long box rail. LOL

This has really been a lot of fun after I got all the yuck cleaned out of it.

Hope you had help. Even a 4x8 sheet of particle board is tough to move around because of the weight and awkwardness of the large size.

Squid, can I live in your shop? ..... you'd probably never have to mow your yard ever again and I don't eat much.

Woot! I got the sliding glass door installed for Mr. B so he'll know when to mow the grass. Installing the door was straight forward and simple, Pella has some good technical writers that create great instructions. (meaning they have lots of pictures)

Nope, no help. It's just been me and the little mule (Kobota). I've gotten pretty good at using the hydraulics on the tractor to lift and move things around over the years. (I can even split firewood with the backhoe) You'd be surprised how much more control you have when it's just you and hydraulics rather than another person that has their own ideas of what's being done and which way to go.

Tomorrow I need to finish the water proofing and then install the lap siding at the top now that I know the exterior door will clear the glass door. Then it's on to the installation of the Ondura sheets on the roof and the North and South sides of the barn over the next 2 weekends weather permitting.
