I'm now 1/2 way through phase one of the Shop project. I've got the 16'X23' foot cement side that will be used to store the tractor, mowers, tillers, etc, and future Auto Resto area (After the Queens house is done) cleaned out and all the nasty shelves and stuff tore down. (I now understand why people tear down rather than restore. It was nasty beyound belief.)
Today the Queen went to Lowes to pick up the insulated garage door with the nifty TorqueMaster™ Counterbalance system and lifetime warranty. While she was there Lowes called and my Ondura roofing is in so she gets to go get that tomorrow (The Queen doesn't get dirty) and when I get up there should be 2,200 feet of 2X4's thrown out on the ground for the pulins (Nailing strips) delivered by those friendly hardware folks at ACE of Wellington for free (Delivery not the 2X4's). I decided due to the snow and the heavy winds to space the purlins 12" on center.
As you look at the interior pics you'll notice the large spacing between the studs and boy did I really luck out here. The spacing is perfect so that when I tear the corrugated tin off the exterior I can add 2 additional studs to make the spacing 16" on center with out messing with the existing studs. (This makes insulating a breeze.)
Next up garage door framing and installation. Then garage floor power wash and then an application of that cool garage floor sealer with the pretty flakes (Wonder if it comes in galaxy Black?)
Purlin install and siding removal/ stud and new siding installation and then the new roof.
Fun, Fun, Fun.
Oh yeah the propane guy came buy and he's going to find me a used 250 Gallon tank rather than a $800 new tank. If he can't find one before January he's going to just lease me one for $5 a month until he does. (Pays to be nice to people.)
Note:The 1st pic is a reminder of what I started with.
