| As much as I am a proponent of the Nissan Leaf, unless you live in an area that has public charging stations, you will be restricted to a round-trip range of less than a 100 miles. For me that would be doable for 90% of my driving. Max distance I travel normally is around 20miles a day.
Then the question becomes how do I extend that range for those occasions I want to travel further. If I go to Seattle, I would need to take the ferry ($12 each way) then find one of the chargers there. Would it be open if I needed it? Not guaranteed.
So in the long run from a practical standpoint, I'd have to vote for the Chevy Volt, which has a gas engine to charge the battery.
Maybe in another 6 or 8 years when my Titan is very long in the tooth, I'll look at what is available in electrics then.
