Thumbs up Bed access step....

Many of you are young and limber and just hop right into the Titan's bed.

Me, blessed with short legs, increasing girth and old age find we need a stump or a step to get into the bed.

I bought one of these swing-away hitch mounted steps ideal for access into my pick-up's bed:

Bully Tailgate Hitch Step, Truck & Suv, Bully at Sportsman's Guide

I paid nearly $50 if I recall correctly. It works as advertised and has been a valuable tool for me.

You might find it useful yourself. I have no financial interest in this or any product I recommend.

Ralph

I have been thinking about something like that for quite awhile. Heavy weight lifting, old age, and joints that are shot make getting into and out of the bed of the truck a painful exercise. Not to mention the hoots and laughter of my buddies when they watch! I think I'll look into it. Thanks

I may have to check into this step thing sooner than I expected. After working out today, a fellow gym rat buddy of mine asked me to help him move some of his son's stuff. It seems that the young man had over bought a home, and lost it to the bank. Getting in and out of the bed of the truck is even less fun than I remembered and I don't have a lift kit! Not to mention the fact that a piece of his home gym equipment was dropped on my big toe and split the nail......... I'll live, I think. Anyway, that step device is sounding better and better. Perhaps a side mounted step as well.

Got one! Pretty neat! I am going to have to figure out how to put a padlock on the retaining pin so that some "light fingered Louie" doesn't take it home with him.
Later.

They sell locking pins at many stores; pins with built in locks. Walmart and many other auto parts stores sell them. A quality pin will cost at least half of the step's price.

I'm looking into the locking pins as well as a padlock for a standard one
