2004 Nissan Titan vs. 2008 Ford Escape

Well today I lost my Titan. I was heading to see my mom in the hospital and was involved in a accident. I was traveling down Hwy. 24 heading towards Decatur and the Escape came across from an adjacent road and I t-boned her in the passenger rear quarter panel @ about 65 to 70 mph. Airbag deployed and I ended up doing several 360's and wound up in the ditch about 50 to 60 yards from the point of impact. Major damage to the front clip of the truck. The passenger side door is jammed shut. The truck took it like a champ. I was very impressed the way the Titan held up. I figure it's a goner considering a state tropper and a city policeman said "It's totalled". Oh well part of life. I'm thankful that no one was hurt or injured vehicles are replaceable, lives...... not so much. I'm gonna go to the towing yard tomorrow and get all my possessions out and I'll be sure to take along the camera and get some photos.

Matt I'm just happy you're ok but it sounds like you may be pretty sore in the morning.

They used to say any landing you could walk away from was a good landing. Any time they could reuse the aircraft, it was a great landing.

So you had a good landing, you walked away bruised but not broken. I'd say that qualifies as great in the real world. I wish you and your Mom swift recoveries.

So now you get to assume the Christmas Crasher Award mantle that I have so honorably worn since December 2005.

Wear it well.

Sorry to hear about your accident and loss of the Titan tt. I am glad that you are OK though and no one was seriously injured.

Hopefully your insurance company will pay off the truck (if it is not) and maybe you will even have some equity you can use towards a new vehicle.

Good luck!

Mr.B, I smashed the front end of my Titan in Dec '05, did 16K damage and it was in the shop just days shy of 2 months. They did a fantastic job on the repairs and the lady has driven flawlessly since. At the time I posted photos of the damage.
