I hope your son has recouped and is back to 100%. Anyone who has been around Motorcycles for any length of time will tell you it's not about if you're going to go down but rather when and how bad. I've been riding street bikes for over 30 years and even though my last wreck was a Van rear ending me and ending up on my right leg I'd rather die riding then live to be 90 and never ride again. It's a sickness and addiction just as bad as Heroin or Crack with a high for me that chemicals can't match.
Sadly I agree with Squid. Motorcycle riding is like a sickness. That is why I've vowed that when I am unable to ride two wheels, I'll transition into a convertible rather moving over to a trike.
Its all about risk management. Really maintain your ride. Best tires and brakes are a certainty for me. As is premium riding gear. Boots, helmet, gloves and armored jacket.
Congrats Squid.

Changed the oil and here's a picture of the right side with the body work off. I also picked up some carbon fiber parts and man is that stuff light but I'm now realizing that all this has done is make all the other black plastic parts look sad.
