SolidWorks = PITA!!!

So, I am trying to draw a boat in solidworks for a design project I have. But it sucks ass, it's not co-operating at all.

BTW, solidworks is a 3D CAD program.

its a 3d cad program. i haven't the slightest clue how to use one but had a 16 year old who worked for me was a master at it and when he graduated highschool was working for a local firm designing and building 3d cads for them. right out of highschool making 20+ dollars an hour and managing jr.college at the same time.

Here is the boat. The colors are funky cuz I was just messing around. It is for a design class that I am taking. The rabbit on the front is going to be a recreation from Monty Python, we are "The Knight's in Cardboard Armor" to fit into the medieval theme.

Basically, I am in a group of 5 who will crew this thing down our local stream in a little over a month. We can only use cardboard and adhesives to build it, can't use a sealant over the entire boat, and there are a few more rules. We have to go through rapids, steer through some slalom gates, and battle the other teams on the way down.

Yikes. I can use Pro/E somewhat, but have never used Solidworks. I'm stuck with 2D autoCad here at work...ugh

wouldn't that design/boat take on too much water going thru rapids?

No, it is a flag. (looking thing.) lol.

We expect to take on a bit of water But hopefully it will be minimized.

My team is ????ing me the F&$^ off!! Out of the 5 on the team, I along with one female, are doing the majority (98%) of the work.

Sounds like a couple of my engineering projects, and with the solidworks/solidedge programs there are a few ways to do everything so its hard to cooperate. Just curious, can you laminate pieces of cardboard together with epoxy or something similar. I know it that would not be as effective as coating the outside, but it would create a barrier behind the first layer.
