It is 10 feet from end to end, has a 5 foot beam, and a draft of around 4 inches. It will be double hulled, with about 2" separating the hulls. The 5 of us combined will weigh 1000lbs (with costumes and fighting gear)

I think it is going to have to have a deeper draft, I only calculate a 830lbs worth of displacement. Of course I don't know the weight of it, but that will have to be accounted for also. So whats giving you the trouble with solid works.

Not sure how deep of a draft Rob can go? Rob called it a "local stream" how deep is the steam Rob? You need to take note of the keel design to keep you on track otherwise you're going to be all over the place?

I think the Monty Python design is classic, good job!

Yeah true, did not really think of it being in a local stream. Course if it won't float the depth won't matter much .

LOL! Thanks guys. I finally got it, I was having problems getting it to cut the hull how I wanted. I have done several calculations on the buoyancy etc. We will have a few thousand pounds of force keeping us up.

We are going to float. Calculating about 20 cubic feet of airspace and a water density of around 62 lb/ft^3

At the shallowest point, the river/stream will be around 10 inches deep. There are no rules however, about being out of the boat.

Now that is a slick idea. Apparently, I am too stupid to work a calculator, lol, cause this time I came up with what you did. This sounds like a total blast, let us know how it goes will ya. Video is also nice by the way.

LOL....that is almost always the case, that's why most professors will have a team evaluation close to the end of the course, that'll be your chance to light 'em up Rob!

Yep! That is what our prof (big old guy with a crazy handlebar mustache) is doing. So I will have some revenge then.
