| Diesel Magazine So I got a Diesel magazine and in the very back there was a picture of a Titan and the header said (Secret Engines). It talked about tubocharged V-6's and a Cummins Diesel. It said info from the makers! The whole story is going to be in the December Edition of the magazine. I think it is called Diesel Power or something like that. It is a truck magazine for the Diesel heads. Ive been wanting to get me a Superduty and jack the hell out of it like Bearhunters new one.......well maybe not that tall but still tall. Anyways, Get next months issue and read about it! I think it comes out on the 7th of November Last edited by ShiftyB; 11-13-2006 at 04:36 AM. |

| Cummins leaving bigger footprint in light-duty market 07/28/2006 CHICAGO -- Truck engine maker Cummins said this week that it signed a partnership with a major unnamed car manufacturer to produce light-duty diesel engines for pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. The Columbus, Ind.-based company, which already makes the diesels that power some Dodge Ram pickups, said that for "competitive reasons" the customer wanted its name to remain "confidential." Cummins only described it as "a major automotive manufacturer serving the North American market." Peter Nesvold, an analyst at Bear Stearns, was speculated the unnamed partner might be Nissan Motor, Japan's second-largest car maker, Reuters reports. It's rumored Nisan wants to introduce a diesel version of its Titan pickup for model year 2009. Nesvold told Reuters that Navistar International had also been bidding on the Nissan deal. Cummins is a major supplier to Navistar for its International heavy-duty trucks. the linky:http://www.todaystrucking.com/news.cfm?intDocID=16514

| I've also heard Nissan is interested in the International I-6 option http://www.internationaldelivers.com...04_Engines.asp Another interesting thing to think about.... Nissan has a commercial truck buisness in Japan that already has diesel motors. That might be an option. Another... Renault has a stake of 44.4% in Nissan. Renault is owned by Volvo which also happens to own Mack Truck. All of these are possible options for motor design so far as I'm concerned (should they decide to go in house).

| No no. The turbo V-6 is for the half ton trucks as a gas engine as per the blurb. I kinda doubt that they would put a v-6 diesel in it. |

| I'll examine the magainze more closely when I get some lunch later, but they didn't say anything about the Titan. It just talks about the new V6 and V8 turbodiesels that they have coming out, and how they would be perfect for the light truck market with a 4.2L V6, and a 5.6L V8. Both will be single over head cam, share a common turbo, and have fuel injectors mounted inside the valve cover. In fact, when I get home later, I'll scan the article for you.

| There's a teaser at the beginning of this rag stating that CAT has this nice nice motor that would be perfect for a 150/1500 series truck. Too bad Dodge is locked into their motors, and Chevy builds their own. Ford sells more 3/4 and full ton trucks then dodge and chevy put together. So to cut to the chase, everyone laughed at Toyota when they came out with new trucks in 1993. Maybe if Toyota wants to be serious in the truck market, they should use CAT motors....
