Ok, so its a Ford...

engine that is. I was reading the December 2010 issue of Automobile magazine and found this info provided by the editor in response to a reader's letter lamenting the lack of a small diesel engine in light trucks.

Quote:

Ford is introducing a 3.5-liter, direct-injected, twin-turbocharged, aluminum, EcoBoost gasoline V-6 for the 2011 F-150. With 365HP and 420 lb-ft of torque, an 11,300 pound towing capacity, and projected highway fuel economy in the low 20s, it goes a long way toward providing a more fuel-efficient full-size pickup even if its not an oil-burner. - Ed.

End Quote.

Sounds to be quite an engine.

Sheesh!! Wonder how much cash that will eat out of the prospective buyers pocket? I looked into F-150's before getting the 2010, and man all I can say is that Ferd is proud of their trucks. Too proud...

It amazes me how much horsepower they squeeze out of these little motors these days. If your old enough, you know how under powered 6cyl engines use to be..

For sure it will be stressed engine. That is pretty good, over a 100hp per liter. Motorcycle engine performance.

amen to that river rat! it'll be something... they advertise them and tout them as the next big thing. that is their job, then push it out on the market and deal with the issues later. that, we all know, is how they'll make their money... in repairs or issues that fail just past warranty.

I think your talking about Dodge. Dodge was just rated as least reliable vehicle , they hope that the Fiat take over of Dodge will help Dodge's reliability in the future.

We all know people are more likely to complain than praise something in public. The F-150, despite the comments voiced here continues to outsell every other vehicle on the market, cars and trucks alike. Someone out there must like them, they were the best selling vehicle, beating the Silverado by more than 2 to 1. The Titan wasn't even mentioned on the list. The Altima was only 5th and that was an improvement over last month.

You are sooo right, 30+ yrs running, best selling truck in the WORLD, not country, in the WORLD !! And you can't argue with that kind of success..

I don't argue their success. Still, when I made a choice to buy a PU, I bought a Titan!
