Nissan is making some changes the the way they are warrantying batteries.
Starting model year 2011 the battery will be covered for 3/36 with NO prorate on the battery. Any battery replaced with in that 3/36 will only carry the remainder of the 3/36 warranty.
Replacement batteries. Replacement batteries still carry a 7 year replacement. The first 24 months is free replacement. 25-32 months prorated 25% to the customer, 33 to 50 months 50% prorated to the customer, 51 to 84 months prorated 75% to the customer. Unless replaced with in the first 3/36 on 2011 models.
Now any battery replaced after april 1 2010 the customer is responcible for the labor. Unless still with in the 3/36.

But on a side note starting in 2011 nissan is now covering the key fob batteries for 3/36.

Funny....just a couple of weeks ago while driving home I seen a car with its hood up parked outside a school. I drive by on the main road then some silly voice starts talking to me. So i turn around and go check it out like the voice told me. I pull up and its a lady with her two young kids waiting for a tow truck. She is driving a nissan and I automatically know she needs a jump start. So i hook up and boom she is up and running again. Its a 2007 nissan and the OEM battery crapped out 2x on her. Some oil place told her she needed a new one a year prior and she didnt listen. I told her the same thing and told her how crappy the nissan batteries are but she decided to wait for the tow truck driver and get his opinion. Just thought i would share my good deed and another crappy nissan battery story.

Morally Bent and Hell Bound

The one in my 04 crapped out 1 month shy of 3 years at 4 AM in a small town. I was just lucky that there was a Walmart down the road about a 1/2 mile that was open 24 hours. Walked down there, bought a new battery, walked back, installed it and off I went. By the way, batteries start getting real heavy at about the 1/4 mile marker.


The funny thing was it never gave me any warning.
