Does Nissan want to win?

Does Nissan want to win in the Truck Game? If they do, it isn't really evident. For 2010, as Squid has reported, the Titan updates boil down to cosmetic fixes, new packages of options and minor cosmetic updates.

So, our major competitor Toyota has improvements for 2010 as well. But in their plans, a new V8 with improved fuel economy has been announced. In these days of expensive gas, and moves to "green" this is a far more significant update than Titan's.

I guess we'll see Toyota increase its sales lead over Nissan yet another year.

So, when will Nissan get off its butt and compete?

Soon I hope.

Sad to say, you're right. They have an excellent platform in the Titan, but they, Nissan, don't seem to have the competency or the will to compete. I do believe that Nissan wants the Titan to just go away, so they won't be bothered. They had an excellent opportunity to really take a large piece of the truck market, but chose instead to just sit back and let it slide. It's a shame........

Here Here Red!! I've always thought that Nissan hasn't done enough to promote the Titan. Even when it was first released to Titan didn't have alot of promotion. I hate to say it but the new Ram is really starting to get my attention. With my family growing, I think a Crew Cab something or other is in my future before the end of 2010. I love my Titan but I don't think that I'll buy another one.

I don't see another truck in my future. If that were to change, Nissan would have to jump through hoops to get my attention.

Sad, that Nissan, has so many happy owners and can't be bothered to offer support or at least hints to what they intend in the future.

I can't say that I won't buy another truck..... Of course by the time this one wears out, I'll be in my mid to late 70's! I don't think I'll be doing to much loading or hauling..... But of course with this economy, I may be working on a 3rd career as a moving man!

Granted there is a big difference between a 1 ton diesel and 1/2 ton Ram (They aren't Dodge any more) but I just rolled over 70,000 miles and other then the 1st year growing PAINS with the 6.7L Cummins and Flash after Flash I'm really liking the quality of the truck..........................with that said, I still feel that the Titan and Tundra are the 2 best made 1/2 ton trucks out there but the lack of packages kills the Titan for a lot of people and the price of the Tundra killed it for me considering I paid $2K less for my 1ton then the Tundra I had been looking at. Things may be different now since the economy has changed and the Tundra may be more affordable but the queen hates the look so here next year we may be buying another Titan.

When I bought my Titan, I fully planned to buy a travel trailer as I was also planning on selling my house and downsize.
Well, times change. I didn't buy a TT nor did I sell my house. So for me, as much as I like my Titan, I don't really need a 1/2 Ton gas slurper!
Because it is nearly paid for, I doubt I'll dump it anytime soon, but I really think an Altima would better suit my transportatin needs. I'd certainly get better gas mileage. Still I'd have to save a lot on gas to warrant buying another car unless I get good trade value for my Titan.
