Titan Bad News

Not all mentions of the Titan in the newspapers are good. Case in point is in today's Wall Street Journal.

The Nissan Titan was mentioned today in company with the Dodge Ram and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pick-ups as receiving less than stellar side impact ratings as a result of crash testing when not fitted with the optional side-impact air-bags. With the air-bags, the Silverado upped its rating to "marginal" while the Titan remained at "poor". The Dodge Ram, which was fitted with standard air-bags was rated "marginal".

Well Duh! Isn't that why they have the side impact bags in the first place?

I just reread my post. Concerning the Dodge, it came standard with side air-bags, not just the usual front mounted ones.

I also reread it and see that I may be able to read the individual words but when grouped together their meaning is lost to me. LOL

Hmmm, only seems logical then to aim head on at other traffic. Seems I will be driving on the left side of the road from now on.

did the titan not get raving marks for safety in years past? i don't understand how we can go from excellent to marginal in a matter of a few years.

Like all things in science; progress raises the bar. Then too, the other makes have introduced new models and the Titan is still an '04 at heart.
