Talk about some teeth on a fish; I caught an 80 lb alligator garr down in Seargent, TX (about 20 to 30 minutes past Lake Jackson). Sorry, those of you who live here in Houston, probably know where I'm talking about. Anways, I had to bring out the .22, and pop it in it's head to bring it up on the dock; or it would have taken a big chunk out of my arm. The gaff that I was holding it with had to be lifted over my head; that's how long this sucker was (the tail was hitting the deck).

We threw out some drum on a sinker line. We waited for about 20 minutes, then the garr took the bait and ran with it. I let the garr take the bait for a good ways, before setting the hook. The fun part was reeling it in, and not letting it swim under our deck (so the line wouldn't get caught, and snap off). All in all, I caught a stinky fish, that we ended up giving away (garr is terrible meat).
