I'm thinking about getting a home defense weapon. Years ago I had a 12 ga. pump shotgun with an 18" barrel. Loaded with buck shot, it doesn't get much better. Maybe I'll get another.
Opinions?

Nothing wrong with a 12ga. The course I took focused on handguns, but they also taught shotgun and long gun courses.

One caution about a pump shotgun. Don't get caught up in the movies thing of waiting until its action time to rack the slide for that "frightening sound in the dark." You might not have time so its best to keep it loaded, or at the very least load it the second you take it up for defense.
