Thumbs up Code "U1000"

Tuesday, I had my oil changed under my service contract. Wednesday, I noticed the Service Engine Soon light was lit.
I took it in Thursday and they ran the fault and found there was a TSB on it. Apparently, the TSB directs checking certain grounds and torquing them per the TSB.
What ever they did, it killed the light and I've not seen it return.

Oh as a bonus, they did the 2deg advance while it was on the analyzer. No charge! I've told you that my dealership is great.

I didnt find that in the list of ODBII codes.

I haven't a clue. The service manager showed me the TSB, and dummy that I am, I didn't write down the number. But, written on my service ticket is "U1000" for sure.

Not sure if this is specific to Nissan, but it's for ODB2 Codes
"U1000 - SCP (J1850) Invalid or Missing Data for Primary Id"
http://www.troublecodes.net/OBD2/Ucodes.shtml

Also found this, grounding problems like you stated.

Here's the TSB for it, DTC U1000 Can Com Circuit or (DTC 1010 Can Com 2006 only) . http://www.nissanhelp.com/Ownership/.../NTB06-009.htm

Clean and tighten ECM grounds, negative battery cable body connection and battery post connection and if needed clean and ensure good contact between the steering member assembly and the left side instrument stay assembly.

Something I'll keep in mind if my light comes on.

You know the complexity of this truck never ceases to amaze me. I doubt that my service tech did everything on the TSB as he had it for just under an hour. However, he did enough that I no longer show the code.

Thanks for doing the extra research for me.

I'm interested in your impressions of the timing advance after you get some miles with it.

I can't say I've noticed anything significant as a result of the 2deg advance yet. The roads here are still littered with sand and tree debris as a result of recent storms. So, I've been reluctant to "get on it" as I don't want to go sideways into the ditch.

From what I've heard, it tends to give a positive bump in the midrange HP and Torque curves. I haven't been over 2k rpm in weeks, so time will tell.
