Freaking out TPMS

So, yesterday morning on my way to work, the TPMS freaked out, beeped and blinked at me. Checked the tires when I got to work, 32PSI. So when I got home I put them all back up to 35PSI. This morning, again on the way to work they the sensor flipped out again. Then, 5 minutes later, the light went out.

I didn't bother to check the pressure yet, but I'm trying to figure out what the heck is going on with this thing...

Might be something as simple as mud, ice, water, etc getting on the receiver sensors, changing the signal.

Maybe voltage change due to using heater/fan more, who knows.

I'd check the pressure again if it keeps up, you might have a leak and not know it. Also, there is no gurantee that your tire pressure gage agrees with the factory TPMS settings.

Of course the SM only had one in stock so I will be going back for the free replacements next week! :smt004

My tec. said when I had the new REVO tires installed at the tire supplier they might have damaged the sensors when they remounted the wheels with the new tires......so be careful if you have new tires mounted on the OEM wheels with sensors.......... :smt009
all under warranty and back to "NORMAL" now!!! :smt004 :smt001
Good luck!

All that drama just to find out you have a couple of bad sensors? Oh it's advertising I get it. Silly me.

Maybe the pressure when cold is low enough to trip it then as you drive the pressure builds up and it goes out. I run mine at 35 PSI cold.

The 04 owners manual says the light comes on around 28 PSI. Chapter 2, page 15.

I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that yesterday morning it was about 20* outside, but I never had the alarm go off too.

Hmmm... It's making me wonder now.

The TPMS seems like such a cool idea, except that it's never really worked correctly in my truck so far as I can tell.
