What GAS costs

I got the following chart off of motorcycle blog from Normandy, Europe:

The Price Of Gas Around The World, And Its Effects from Bikes in the Fast Lane - Daily Motorcycle News

As you can see, we really do have it good and even if we paid $4 a gallon, we would still be low compared to some other countries.

Can you imagine filling up your Titan's tank routinely in Norway? Talk about sticker shock!!

It's even stranger than that. When I was commuting to a little island off the cost of Venezuela for an engineering project several years ago, not only was gas $1.75-$1.90 US per liter, but they had people assigned to each pump that would unlock the pump, get the receipt from you, then pump the gas to insure that you didn't try to over fill or steal! When they were done they would relock the pump, then sit down and wait for the next customer

We need to reduce the number of things we think we need our government to provide. Cut the damn war, cut foreign aid, cut the deficit and bring spending under control. Maybe then the taxes will come down. Cut costs first, tax less later.
