Fuel Filter

I'm having a difficult time locating information on whether or not our trusty Titans have a "canister" type fuel filter located outside of the fuel tank. I searched the automotive parts houses for a replacement filter and have come up empty handed ..... surely Nissan engineered us up a replaceable fuel filter on these trucks .... My truck started bogging down under exccelleration and I suspect that it's a fuel delivery issue and replacing the fuel filter would be step #1. ....any thoughts?

Hate to be the barer of bad news but the filter is in the tank conected to the pump. I had a major problem last month where my Titan was studdering from stopping then just completely cut out and wouldn't start. When I had it towed to Nissan I asked if it could be the filter or pump and where are they. They told me it was in the fuel cell.

My problem ended up being a bad IPDM which was covered.

What is a "IPDM" ? ..... stumbling and bogging while trying to exccellerate from a stop is my problem .... AH HA!! Intelligent Power Distribution Module! I googled that crap. Now I need to know how I verify whether my issue is fuel delivery related or if I've developed a problem with the "IPDM" ?.....

Last week, I called a local Houston stealership and discussed my issue with a service writer who quickly asked me if the "check engine" light came on ... it did not .... he said that without the "check engine" light, there is no problem code, and without a problem code, there is no way to diagnose a problem .... sounded logical to me, but I called a second stealership anyway and had basically the same conversation with their service writer .... I then decided to just drive the truck like all's well and see what happens, or if it'll throw up a code .... infact, I've been driving the tea-total-crap outta my sweet little truck and it has not duplicated my original issue at all .... now I'm wondering if maybe I imagined my truck bog, sputter and almost die in heavy traffic .... sometimes reality and fantazy tend to intertwine ....

It's possible you hit a slick spot without knowing it and the truck did it's traction control thing which at time does cut power.

No ... I was in moderately heavy traffic and came to a stop .... when I began to move forward, it stumbled and bogged for the next 6 or 8 miles at which time I made it home ....the next day I drove it around town and no problems occurred but I started looking for a fix. The good news is that I've now driven a whole tank full of gas through it and it has not duplicated the problem ... the scary news is that today, me and my cat will be driving back to Memphis in it .... I have AAA, but there's a couple of hours of driving in North Texas and South/West Arkansas that I don't get phone reception .... wouldn't it be ashame for me to break-down, have to hitch hike, and get picked up by a bus full of drunk UCLA cheerleaders?

In Arkansas? Now that would be drunk. By the way, you did check your battery cables right?

I still have the original battery (6 years and 155k miles), but that is a good point .... the terminals are very clean and well oiled, but it wouldn't hurt to take a gander at them. I made it back to Tennessee without a problem .... maybe something was in the gas ... or maybe the filter sock on the suction of the fuel pump momentarily got plugged up, and the debree fell off ... I'm really at a loss .... I'm gonna replace the spark plugs Wednesday, my day off .... got any pointers on spark plug replacement?

I popped my hood and took a looky-see at it a little earlier .... looks like there's plenty of room for my gentle, yet muscular hands ..... I also looked on the interweb at Autozone, RockAuto, Advance, etc. for replacement plugs .... are ya'll aware that Iradium plugs are going for $8 to $10 smack-a-roonies each? .... I might have to buff my originals with sandpaper, re-gap 'em and stick 'em back in.
