I swung by AutoZone and picked up a set of Autolite Double Platnum plugs ... $3.99 each .... and replacement was much easier than expected ... the original NGK's that came out looked bad ... the ground straps were worn ... almost rounded off ... the electrode looked like a thin, pointy piece of wire surrounded by splatter .... the color was ashy as expected ... the truck seems to run smoother and the smoothness is most noticable while slowly excellerating in high gear, without down shifting. I should have changed these plugs 50k miles ago.

That 100K between tuneups is in reality more possible under lab conditions that the real world. Really shows how capable the modern electronics are.
I guess I'll have to plan on changing plugs in 13K or so miles.

We're still running the same plugs at 117,000 miles with no noticeable drop in MPG or performance and you'll notice I wrote "noticeable". I'm going to put the OEM in when I change them and I'll let you know the verdict.

I got up this morning to do a flush and fill on the 'ol radiator .... I was gonna swap out the hoses while I was at it but nobody had hoses for it ... not even Landers Nissan in Southhaven, Mississippi .. I told that dude that my truck was 6 years old and they needed to stock some parts for it ... he said, "dude, I just work here." .. I said, next truck I buy will be a Ford, he said, "That's what I drive" .... hahahaha ... I pulled off the splash-guard and looked at that plastic little drain valve sticking out of the bottom of the radiator and wondered how many morons broke theirs off .... then I broke mine ... hahahahaha .... $8 smack-a-roonies at the Nissan place ..... I also noticd that the lower radiator hose is actually TWO hoses .... neither AutoZone, O'Reilly's, Advance, Napa nor RockAuto.com show this "third" radiator hose on their web-sites, and AutoZone and O'Reilly's counter dudes looked at me like I was stupid when I inquired about it .... I even took one dude out and showed him and he still tried to deny that it was there ... maybe I'll change 'em out next year ....

Next owner? .... It's look'n like my trusty Titan will be a "hand me down" to my boy .... and he has a penchant for driving his crap into the ground un-maintainenced to the end .... on second thought, maybe it's time I stop raining gifts of vehicles down upon him ... hahahaha
