Average MPG

As you can see I am new to the site, and I currently have a 1990 nissan king cab 4x4 V6 with 271k miles and it hasn't let me down yet. And I am currently in the market for a new truck and looking hard at the Titans. There is a white 2008 pro-4x at the dealership near my house that I really like but I have a few concerns.
1. I know the epa estimate says 12mpg city/17mpg hwy, is this accurate? What are yall getting around town?
2. Is there enough room in the king cab for a baby sit, if and when I were to have any children?

Welcome aboard! I own a '05 KC 4X2 with big tow package. I average 13 to 14MPG around town. On the freeway, I average 17 to 18MPG with out a load.

Yes, I believe there is sufficient room for a child's car seat in the back. There are safety mounts to hook onto.

My truck, which is carefully maintained and not abused has given me no problems. I did replace the rear quasi-pseudo-electronic limited slip differential with the Detroit True Track and personally believe it to be the finest mechanical modification available for the Titan.

Once again, glad to have you join us.

I average about 12 around town, with my 05 kc big tow 4x4, and I tend to drive it pretty hard.

Same as them when it comes to MPG 12 to 15 in town depending on whether I'm showing off and 18 to 20 on the highway depending on the speed. MPG is a big variable depending on what city you live in and whether you spend a lot of time in bumper to bumper traffic.

I have a 04 King Cab with 116,000 miles on her without a problem and just starting to Modify her because I feel she's finally broke in.

Welcome to the site and you won't be disappointed with a Titan.

I've averaged right around 13.5 during a mix of highway and city driving (most of my driving is city anyway).

Best was 20.2 MPG going across Ohio a few years ago.

Of course, I've also gotten that 13.5 MPG towing two 500 lb motorcycles, on their trailer, with a bed full of gear so I try not to complain too much.

i average around 7-8 mpg when i'm in the desert offroading like a mad mang but when i succumb to the urban, "stay within' the lines", "drive the speed limit" rules, then my MPGs average around 13-15 around town and 17-19 on the freeway. i LOVE my titan. i've modded her to the point of no return, so as to say she pro'ly won't be traded in anytime soon or ever for that matter. nope, love my titan too much. everytime i get something new on it, it just reignites that "first time driving it off the lot" feeling. soooo, that's all i do and GOD KNOWS there's plenty of things to buy for this truck. it just doesn't seem to have an end to it all. hopefully if my dreams ever come to fruition, i'll have her fully caged, engine modified, suspension completely done and have her ready to compete for some Mojave Desert Racing!!!

currently 72,000 miles on her and no problems. speaking of Nissan Hardbodies those trucks rule. i speak present tense cause i know of several which makes yours seem new. 1 with over 500,000 miles and 2 with over 400,000 miles. alternators, water pump, ac condensors about the only major things even replaced on them. unbelievable trucks!

wtf dude? ^^ I wish I could reach 13-15 'round town....I hoover right around 12mpg overall!! Must be my lead foot, bad (lifted truck) aerodynamics, and 35s.......

to the site 1886, you'll LOVE the titan, especially since guinea pigs like Squid, Hoolie, and meeself went out on a limb in 04 and grabbed the brand new Titan and have beat 'em and loved 'em ever since!

Sorry missed this question. Yes a car set will fit fine in a king cab. I've got mine in the center of the rear seat and my 2-1/2 year old fits fine. He's tall for his age (40-1/2") but he can rest his feet on the center console. It gets kinda cramped on long trips but he manages well. Here we are playing camera phone tag a couple of months ago.
