Sadly Squid, there is so much inertia in all levels of Government that changes will require some really significant event to cause any real level of change. You know, a killer comet or some other similar life-threatening event.

I worked for 26 years in Federal Civil Service. Of course I was a "Blue Collar" employee so I never tasted any of the fluff. But your comments dovetail with mine. They will reach for anything that doesn't personally affect them or their level of comfort. Every time there was a budget cut, it hit us in the shops before and harder than the high paid folks.

Welcome to the club! My 05, w/2WD, SE PKG, Big Tow and Tract. Pkg is averaging 16-17 on the highway at average speeds of 75-80. My wife uses it for towing now, and still beats the mileage on the old Ferd! My 08 is still not broken in yet,(1300 miles), plus it has that huge arsed tank, so I haven't bothered to figure it yet. Like everyone else has said, you won't be disappointed with the Titan.......

I average 17-18 with mine. 06 LE, BT, OR, 4x4. No problems other then the climate control going south (twice). 33,000 miles.

Changed the oil in mine last weeked and went with Valvoline Dura Blend, and got an extra mpg. I'm up to 15.4 mpg now. Guess synthetic oil is a little slicker than dino lube.

Hey guys, first post here. I'm averaging 12-13 mpg, mixed driving. Well, if you take into account the tire diameter difference from stock (35"/33" = 1.6 multiplier), I'm getting 12.7-13.8. Pulling into gas stations is depressing these days...

I must be doing something wrong. I'm somewhere in the 9-11mpg range and 11-14 freeway. Must be driving habits, or the wheels that weigh 50 pounds each. Never the less I love my titan. I am very picky and did a lot of research on both gas and diesel trucks. I went with the titan and don't regret it for second.

The people like me who are getting 18MPG have stock wheels and the non big tow rear end.
